The 2017 Major League Baseball postseason is officially set, Saturday, September 30, 2017 as the National League's fifth seed is the Colorado Rockies.

American League teams: Cleveland Indians (AL Central), Houston Astros (AL West), Boston Red Sox (AL East), New York Yankees (A.L. Wild Card 1), Minnesota Twins (A.L. Wild Card 2)
National League teams: Los Angeles Dodgers (NL West), Washington Nationals (NL East), Chicago Cubs (NL Central), Arizona Diamondbacks (N.L. Wild Card 1), Colorado Rockies (N.L. Wild Card 2)

http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/20874683/colorado-rockies-clinch-postseason-berth-milwaukee-brewers-loss

The favorite WS matchup is a Indians-Dodgers World Series.

I have the right to change picks once postseason officially starts, but here it is:

A.L.W.C.
Yankees def. Twins

N.L.W.C.
Rockies def. D'backs

ALDS
Indians def. Yanks in 5
Red Sox def. Astros in 5 (Still rooting for a Yanks-Red Sox ALCS 2017)

NLDS
Dodgers def. Rockies in 4 (This is a potential upset, remember Phillies 2011)
Nationals def. Cubs in 5

ALCS
Indians def. Red Sox in 6

NLCS
Dodgers def. Nationals in 7

WORLD SERIES
Dodgers def. Indians in 7

(Dodgers have the highest payroll in baseball, like Yanks', anything less than a WS is failure)

Picking a Dodgers-Indians World Series is silly and shows no hindsight of how the baseball post-season has actually played out for the last few years.

AL Wild Card: Yankees over Twins
NL Wild Card: DBacks over Rockies

ALDS: Indians over Yankees in 5, Red Sox over Astros in 5

NLDS: DBacks over Dodgers in 5, Nationals over Cubs in 4

ALCS: Red Sox over Indians in 7

NLCS: DBacks over Nationals in 7

World Series: Red Sox over DBacks in 6

Seeing my St. Louis Cardinals NOT in the playoffs again saddens me.

AL Wild Card: Yankees over Twins
NL Wild Card: Diamondbacks over Rockies

ALDS: Indians over Yankees in 4, Astros over Red Sox in 5.

NLDS: Dodgers over Diamondbacks in 5, Nationals over Cubs in 4.

ALCS: Astros over Indians in 7

NLCS: Dodgers over Nationals in 7

World Series: Astros over Dodgers in 6.

NL Wild Card Game: Diamondbacks over Rockies (Grienke should be able to pitch seven or eight innings of quality ball, especially as the game won't be in Coors field)

NLDS: Dodgers over Diamondbacks in 4 (Grienke in one starter, the Dodgers have three legit aces in Kershaw, Darvish and Hill) Nationals over Cubs in 5 (Wouldn't be stunned if the Cubs won this, but going up against both Scherzer and Strasburg twice in the same series might be too much for them)

NLCS: Dodgers over Nationals in 7 (Kershaw is simply a better pitcher than either Scherzer or Strasburg IMO)

AL Wild Card Game: Yankees over Twins (The Yankees have had the Twins number for years now. That won't change)

ALDS: Indians over Yankees in 5 (The Tribe are streaking, so I think they can easily stop Aaron Judge/Gary Sanchez) Astros over Red Sox in 5 (This is a very evenly matched series which could either way...however Houston's addition of Verlander gives them the edge)

ALCS Indians over Astros in 6 (The Tribe are just too hot to cool off now)

World Series: Dodgers over Indians in seven (plus a few extra innings) (Clayton Kershaw and Yu Darvish make sure it's wait until next year for the team with the longest active title drought in MLB).

ALWC tonight: Yankees make the Twins-Yankees ALWC game competitive with a 3-3 game.

Have you seen how well Cleveland's played lately? I'll give you the Dodgers possibly not making it, but the fact is the hot team usually makes a deep run if not wins it all, and that's Cleveland.

My only prediction is that the Cubs are going to prove all you in the national consensus wrong in dismissing them this postseason. I'm not guaranteeing a repeat, as they do have their flaws. But lets not pretend these Nationals and Dodgers are so flawless. This Cubs team was built to win in the postseason, and the team with the best second half record in the NL is going to be as tough an out as any.

2016: 95 win Rangers bounced by Wild Card winning Blue Jays
2015: 100 win Cardinals bounced by Wild Card winning Cubs
2014: 98 win Angels bounced by Wild Card winning Royals, 96 win Nationals bounced by Wild Card winning Giants
2012: 98 win Nationals bounced by Wild Card winning Cardinals
2011: 102 win Phillies bounced by Wild Card winning Cardinals

The number one seeds in both leagues have met in the World Series just once in the last 18 years (2013). History says either the Dodgers or Indians (or both) are going to hit a wall at some point or another.

It's more likely going to be the Dodgers. They're coming in on a slump, while the Indians are on fire.

Oo you're pretty lucky since the Brewers don't have the opportunity to humiliate themselves.

Yes, the Brewers who had an amazing run after being predicted to lose 100 games. Cubs, who were expected to ball out limped into the post season, have fun!

Lol, I guess 92 wins, going 49-25 in the second half, and winning 15 of the last 19 games of the season is limping in. But thanks, we will have fun!

The Yankees Win! The Yankees Win!!!

The Indians are clearly a cursed team...haven't won the World Series in 69 years (1948).

Give them another forty years, then they'll win it all. (If you're not paying attention, that's 109 years, or one more than the Cubs 108 years without a title).

I'm rooting that much harder for the Cubs now. Eff the Walgreens Nationals.
