Stabenow is a good looking woman for her age

If I were an old man I would take her to bed if she were my mate

So Corker and Flake might kill this thing or they are going to pass a half assed version of the already unpopular tax bill

Why is Flake even being considered

He's cuck of the year

I still say this title belongs to Ted Cruz.

Man calls your wife ugly and says your father was part of a plot to kill a president and yet you still vote for everything he wants in Congress.

More pertinent than his votes is him actually personally kissing Trump's ass. Cruz is the ultimate cuck. Poor Heidi.

He's even given up on being an outsider. Cucked by both Trump and McConnell!

He's more of a punk  being passed around at this point.

If this passes Democrats need to hike taxes on the rich as soon as they get in in 2021, and ideally hike top income tax rates above 50% to pre-Reagan levels. This can be done with an infrastructure reform bill, overhauling the tax code and destroying Trump's one accomplishment while actually delivering for working Americans and creating more jobs and rising incomes.

How many votes are needed to increase taxes...is it a simple majority?

It wouldn't raise the deficit, so probably.

That could totally be done with reconciliation, especially since this bill will be done with reconciliation. 50 votes would be needed. And if the Democrats abolish the filibuster as I'd prefer it would be so much easier(repeal& replace was impeded by many GOP policies not being able to pass reconciliation).

They aren't opposed (yet), but there was some interesting floor drama a little while ago. Read through: https://twitter.com/MEPFuller/with_replies

Lol what?  It absolutely is. Don't blame the politicians for doing what they said they were going to do, blame the people who voted for them and gave them the power to do it to begin with.

Cornyn says Corker want MORE than $350 billion in higher taxes as "he's latched on to the" JCT score showing $1 trillion in red ink after growth.

Good luck...

Yeah, the possibility of the GOP passing a tax bill is super small now. Flake will probably side with Corker on this one.

This entire tax bill is a sh**tcake.

Republican solution: negative SALT deduction. Taxpayers who pay more SALT now also get the privilege of their federal taxes increasing by the same amount of SALT paid.

Collins may flip if she realizes the effect on coverage is too great. Or some darkhorse like Daines or Lankford could torpedo it. It's not safe when every Senator is the deciding vote.

Don't be dramatic. The chances of this thing passing have not changed over last few hours

What has changed is the timing

This is perhaps a stupid question, but what's the parliamentarian's logic behind nixing the trigger provision? Seems like it's pretty closely related to revenue items, no?

Uhh yeah, they have changed. You really think the GOP wants $350 billion in tax hikes? Trump won't be happy, especially since it's Corker and this will elongate the process. This tax bill won't be passed this year.
