Cassidy is so quick to rail against "government" that he not only seems to forget that state governments are also governments, but he just tweeted a line from his bill that supposedly guarantees the government will protect people with pre-existing conditions. He's claiming that government is the problem, so therefore we should instead trust a vague line in a bill passed by the government. A promisary note supposedly enshrined by the very government he insists isn't able to manage healthcare is more trustworthy to him than an actually tangible plan.

A much more eloquent response than I could ever deliver: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3RHnKYNvx8

The Lugar Center disagrees with Bernie not being a partisan hack.

As we know, the least bipartisan member of Congress will get total bipartisan support, right?

I am now one with socialism. The Berniesattva showed me the truth; the Democrats are the vultures of capitalism. The only path is revolution. Workers of the world, to arms!

For a Canadian, you sure know more than Americans do about their own parties.

Ah yes, I was completely covering the GOP when I called out an independent being an ideological hack.

The socially and economically left-wing user from New Jersey is definitely best suited for the Republican Party solely because he opposes Bernie Sanders' radical agenda.

Cassidy then responded to a woman concerned about homecare policy by pointing out there's a section in the bill with the word "homecare" in the title.

The word "affordable" is in the title of the ACA. How did that work out, exactly?

I did like how Bernie tried to box Cassidy in with a commitment to support importing cheaper foreign drugs and lifting the ban on Medicare negotiating drug prices, and Cassidy just went into an unrelated rant about Bernie literally wanting to seize the means of production.

The reality is, when people are struggling to pay for healthcare and need help, it's hard to look them in the eyes and say, "no, we can't import cheaper drugs that are just as reliable as the expensive ones here, and no, we can't allow the govt to negotiate down overly expensive drug prices, because we need corporate campaign donations, oh and [reasons]."

Bernie got more amendments passed during the 1995-2006 Republican controlled House than any other member.

That was nearly 10 years ago. And he was a Congressman, not a Senator.

Who else thinks that Bill Cassidy is secretly Henry Rollins?  I've never seen them in the same room together.

He's gotten plenty of amendments passed since then. But obviously you don't care about his record.

Klobuchar just mentioned a "middle ground" between Graham-Cassidy and Medicare for all.
They already have it. It's called Obamacare.

This seems to be Cassidy attempting that boost is name recognition.  I like how he speaks.
Cassidy 2020?

I doubt 2020 (unless Trump and Pence both don't run), but maybe later on. Or Senate Majority Leader?

Also, I kinda like Klobuchar more than Sanders.
This is why I think Klobuchar would be the strongest candidate in a general against Trump in 2020; Klobuchar could position herself as the anti-Trump, but at the same time nodding to voters Democrats have lost over the past few cycles. I just hope there is still an influential wing of the party that is somewhere between the Clinton and Sanders wings by 2020.
That wing does not exist anymore. Progressive will never support a neo liberal in dem primary.
