This is my prediction for Senator Joe Manchin facing President Mike Pence in 2020.

At the minimum:

482-56

Manchin ceiling:

510-28

Manchin would roast Pence. I'd hope his VP would be John Delaney Smiley.

Actually this is Chris Hansen and we're doing a story on paid Berniebro trolls on the Internet, rather than pursue predators.

Being serious, I think Manchin would win vs Pence, but certainly not in a massive landslide like OP (jokingly?) suggests.

His map is probably HRC '16 + MI, PA, WI, OH, FL, and West Virginia. Iowa would be very close as well and could go for Manchin.

Manchin & Delaney to win every state.

I do feel this is the one time in the last 100 years where the Dems could win 0 states. I can see an Independent progressive winning VT, CA & deep blue states & splitting votes with Manchin to hand over 40 odd states to Pence. A genuine 3 way battle is possible.

Or maybe I will go with the original idea of Manchin winning 50 states !

So Manchin would win against Pence but Kamala Harris and Bernie Sanders wouldn't? Just questioning the general mentality of atlas.

Manchin would win pretty easily I think, even if progressives don't like him I think a lot of moderate voters and at least some conservative-leaning voters would vote for him

If Trump were removed from office somehow and Pence was the candidate, I guarantee you that Manchin would win.  And I guarantee you that there would be no viable 3rd party candidacy from any major Democrat; under those circumstances, no one would want to be responsible for blowing the race.

Manchin wins every Obama 2008 state and every Bill Clinton 1992 and 1996 state.

That sounds about right

I HIGHLY doubt Joe Manchin beats Mike Pence in Tennessee.

This would be my serious map:

Closest states are: Iowa, Arizona, Georgia, and North Carolina.

Manchin is West Virginia's favorite son, it would be somewhat close if it was Manchin vs Trump, but in a Manchin vs Generic Establishment Republican match-up (I.e, Manchin vs Pence), West Virginia easily votes for their favorite son over a generic Republican.

States don't swing almost 50 points just because of candidates. I'm not saying it wouldn't dramatically swing/trend D, but it isn't flipping.
