http://time.com/4935148/hillary-clinton-what-happened-politics/

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2017/09/10/clinton-i-am-done-with-being-a-candidate/

She says "I am done with being a candidate."

However, be skeptical as the source isn't credible at all.

She's a twice failed candidate, old, and has terrible favorable ratings. Donors are already looking elsewhere. She'll get a good edit in the history books I'm sure.

It doesn't matter if she runs or not. If she does run, she's going to have very little support anyways.

It's a hell of a lot more credible than your beloved Breitbart.

I think she will sound more credible if she makes this statement in mid-2019 as opposed to now.

Hopefully. She's been a bad candidate in 2008 and 2016. It's time for new leaders. Democrats have enough good people other than Hillary (and Bernard).

Well duh, you don't lose in that kind of way, to that kind of person, at that age and expect to get anywhere again.

Maybe if one of these things were different, but the sum of these parts is too damaging in prospects and on the inside.

What's next, Nixon faces President Humphrey in '72 despite  THREE loses and being in the eye for 25 years? What a joke!

Seriously, this is a no-brainer conclusion.

I wonder what the scope of this statement is on a scale from 0-4:

0: Hillary Clinton will not participate in politics anymore at all.
1: Hillary Clinton will not participate in any more political office oriented jobs anymore (but still publicize her views on what the best primary candidates in some elections).
2: Hillary Clinton will not run for political office ever again (leaving open the possibility that if nominated for something like a cabinet position again, she would not reject the offert).
3: Hillary Clinton will not run for president anymore (leaving open the possibility of still running for office down ballot).
4: This is fake news.

My guess is 1.

As much as I wanted her to be President, she made the correct decision here.

I have zero sympathy for a candidate that blew a winnable race which gave you, and the world, Donald F-king Trump.

Good Riddens. The democratic party, and all americans, are tired of listening to her blame Comey, Russia, Bernie, Johnson, and Biden (!) for a loss that was entirely her fault, and is ready to move in a new direction.

She'll be a compromise/consensus candidate if the 2020 Democrats are a broken party.

In a brokered convention, Hillary could be the 2020 Democratic nominee.

Good riddance - though Clinton's especially have a thing for saying they're "done" when they've only gotten started.

But secular talk told me that she's gonna run again. Brb gonna make 7 threads on excerpts from her book.

Secular talk has more credibility then a random poster on the internet. She stated She's not leaving politics...so what else does that mean.

I really don't understand how anyone honestly thinks she's going to run again. She has never liked campaigning at all. She just suffered one of the most humiliating political defeats in decades, she will be in her mid 70s, and quite frankly, I think she is finally sick of giving a f**k what people think about her. Im sure she wants to be President, obviously.... but I am even more certain that she has absolutely zero desire to run again in order to get there.

Hopefully. She's been a bad candidate in 2008 and 2016. It's time for new leaders. Democrats have enough good people other than Hillary (and Bernard).

I would argue that she was a good candidate in 2008, it's just that Obama was exceptional. I think Hillary would've crushed McCain by a margin similar to Obama's, had she won the nomination. She was really at her peak in 2008 - it was then that she had the most convincing speeches, came off as the most charismatic, wasn't yet nearly as scandal-ridden as she is now, and still had strong appeal in many working class whites areas (like WV or AR, where she would've well outperformed Obama).

I honestly believe that 2008 was a case where the electorate was ripe for a 1952/56 tier electoral landslide in favor of the Democrats and Obama blew the opportunity, being just about the worst candidate the Democrats could have nominated that year.
