If confirmed, this is another opportunity for democrats to show they have what it takes to win. This seat was 61-33 Trump, which is about the same as KS-4.

IIRC OK tends to be more D downballot. Failing to win this doesn't mean democrats are doomed, though.

Not this district though.   This district and OK-05 have been Republican downballot long before any of the other districts.

Looking deeper into the '16 results, while Trump improved over Romney in most of the rural areas of this district, Tulsa County, which is by far the most populated county in the district, swung towards the democrats, as did the district as a whole.

Washington County: Romney +48 to Trump +48 (=)
Tulsa County: Romney +28 to Trump +22 (D+6)
Wagoner County: Romney +46 to Trump +53 (R+7)
Creek County: Romney +46 to Trump +55 (R+9)
Rogers County: Romney +50 to Trump +57 (R+7)
Overall: Romney +32 to Trump +28 (D+4)

which is probably bad news for Democrats, because some of that likely has to have come from ancestrally R voters in South Tulsa, and who are predisposed to vote R.

yeah I mean if Dems get within 15 here its probably a success. A lot of GOP ghouls are running here - including State Senator Nathan Dahm, who is always first in line with a controversial gun and or abortion bill.

Despite being from OKC, I bet Connie Johnson is going to try to vie for the Democratic nomination.

Not in Tulsa, which has always been a Republican area. This is a no-hoper for the Democrats.

Potential Republican Field:

State Sen. Nathan Dahm, former Tulsa County District Attorney Tim Harris, Tulsa pastor Danny Stockstill, businessman Kevin Hern, and nonprofit executive and retired Army intelligence officer Andy Coleman

Will any Democrats run in OK-1's special election? Republicans from West Covina, California always run candidates in safe D CA-32. Why can't Tulsa Democrats do the same?

Only way this seat flips is if the Republicans fall asleep, like they almost did in Kansas and South Carolina.
