Typically Prog-Con refers to social libertarians (i.e. the former Progressive Conservative Party of Canada, may it rest in peace).

But, originally, "Progressive" refered to an economic, not a social philosophy.  Therefore, we would simply be going by the original meaning of the term.

If Christian Democrats were selected, I would go with it, but I would still be somewhat against the fact that it does seem to promote a certain religious group over others.

None of these are really bad names. While I understand Harry's point, 'Christian Democratic' does harken to the international Christian Democratic Party and is pretty accurate.

Although Communitarian Party is fun too, as are the Christian Socialist Party, Progressive Conservative Party, Populist party, etc...

Looks like the Christian Democrat Party is winning.  I'm very open to the idea of joining up a new party once voting finishes.  However, I'm also considering the ILP, though there are some in the party that may not want me.
