As for the government, it's repulsive and destructive for both the world and Russia itself, but I'm not surprised that homophobic authoritarians would support it.

To be fair, I'd argue Putin is better than Erdogan, Sharif, Jinping, Assad, and a great deal of Asia, including Iran and Saudi Arabia.

Maybe, maybe not. There are many awful governments in the world, doesn't make any one of them good.

Mexico: their food is one of the greatest gifts to the world.

That said, I love Canada as well, and I think we should have an EU-style freedom of movement/trade with the Canadians.

To visit or learn about I would say Mexico. They also have excellent food. If I had to live in one though I would obviously pick Canada.
