As I said before, I'll take the CBO scoring of this bill far more seriously than any Bernie math that's going down in this thread.

Is the CBO scheduled to score this soon?

I honestly don't know. I hope they do though.
If the CBO comes out with the same answer as the "Bernie math", you'll just call them hacks.

Sanders lost the nomination and won the Democratic Party

WASHINGTON - When Bernie Sanders launched his bid for the Democratic nomination, he was often asked whether he, a democratic socialist, would actually become a Democrat. Now, more than a year after he ignited a movement with his unsuccessful bid, that question is moot. The Democrats have become socialists.

Are we really now calling any policy that provides more welfare/more govt intervention "socialism"?

Because I'm pretty certain the Democrats aren't actual socialists.

The majority of Senate Democrats didn't even support this. The 2020 prospects are just trying to look more progressive. Even if this is implemented it will be with heavy restructuring. Bernie has not "won" anything.

I think the Democrats are missing the nonpartisan part of Bernie's message which was equally if not more appealing to independents - his charge that the system is rigged and people who don't have loads of cash don't have a real say in the system.

My point is that your party has taken a far worse turn for the worse recently (not that I think having more progressive agendas is bad for Democrats at all, but from your perspective, at least).

If the 2020 contenders are trying to appear progressive, then what does that say? Seems to me that Bernie's playing for the long-term here.

Ok now i know the Democrats are terrible but c'mon. The only goal for Republicans is to pass tax breaks for the rich and their donors. THATS IT.

Sanders had a srong performance vs Chuck Todd in MTP. Talks about the high current costs of healthcare, talks about the huge administrative costs (12-18%) of private insurance & the complexities. Mentions how Medicare is simple, has low administrative costs (2-3%) & is extremely popular.

Talks about how dishonest it is not to mention premiums going down/eliminated. Mentions that a family earning 50K a year in employer based healhcare costs 18,000 a year (13,000 + 5,000). Quick strong showing.

Also discusses HRC issue, where he says a significant number of Hillary/McCain voters existed (even more than Sanders/Trump) & not everyone is a Democrat & reminds how hard he worked to bring his supporters to vote for Hillary.

Hybrid system - Mixture of Socialism & Capitalism. Certainly not Capitalism though. Atleast this is as Socialistic as it gets & so is Minimum Wage or Medicare/Medicaid.

The current economic model globally is a hybrid system.

Cuomo backs federal single-payer health care system — and even says he’d approve it on a state level

ALBANY — Gov. Cuomo on Monday became the latest potential 2020 presidential candidate to come out in support of a federal single-payer health care system. "I think that would be a good idea," Cuomo said when asked about the issue on WNYC public radio "Brian Lehrer Show," because he fears the Republican attempts to repeal and replace Obamacare are far from over.

How do they plan to pass this bill through a GOP congress? Has it been scored by the CBO yet? Hmmm...

Can you come up with a different line already?

The only ones I find notable are highlighted, either for my surprise (Durbin, Peters) or for the fact that it will hurt them in their reelection campaigns (the others.)

Sanders/Warren/Merkely should co-sponsor the medicare at 55 bill. Better than what we have currently and would help unite the party.

This.
Also, I think it's very hypoctiyical for Sanders to run as an independent again. The Democratic party clearly embraced him and many of hid views, with so many Democrats notably supporting single-payer healthcare. Let him join them if he wants to have his influence.

By embracing many of their positions, but not absolutely succumbing to everything and purging everyone who disagrees? How cruel.
