And Cuomo dies at the same time as OTL, (New Years Day 2015), would the Republicans in the Senate still block any new justice from being confirmed?

Cuomo was too sick by that time to attend his son's gubernatorial victory ceremony, so I think he would've retired a few weeks before.

If Andrew or Chris is either on the courts or is State Attorney General, they might replace him. Otherwise, I suspect Merrick Garland, Sri Srinivasan, or Jeffrey Rosen would be the nominee and be confirmed.
