At the current rate of sanity burn in the White House, I think there's a better than 50% chance he won't last the year. Being the adult in the White House is eventually going to mean telling the Oval Office resident 'No'. Trump, being a spoiled brat unable to grasp consequences, doesn't put up with being told 'no' very well. Kelly might stand up to him successfully once, or twice, but he'll be gone after that. Unless there's no more Trump in the White House, of course.

I give Kelly a year before Trump decides it's time to humiliate him.

Chiefs of staff rarely last more than one or two years in a "normal" administration just because of how demanding and draining the job is.

But trying to manage Trump? I give him six months. I really think that's the limit under these circumstances.

There’s a 40% chance that Trump will have a new chief of staff by the start of autumn. There’s a 75% chance he will by the start of winter.
