Not very high because of all the racist old white people there, mainly.

Since I didn't think it was very coherent the first time...
When Oklahoma sends its people, they're not sending their best. The Oklahoman preceding me is a counter-example. Wink

Some, I assume, are good people.

Freedom State due to its being an anomaly.

Is it the western most eastern state, or the eastern most western state? The world may never know.

Australia has a bunch of deadly animals and horrible laws regarding movies and video games, but I still can't bring myself to hate it for some reason.

Freedom State....

Way too expensive to live, except for the nine months where my employer was paying my housing cost in the Bay Area as part of a Project I was working on. However, if I could afford to live there, quite a few places would be on my radar in NorCal and even certain parts of SoCal.

However, I love to visit family and friends on a regular basis, and would definitely consider retiring in some small cabin out in the rugged rural North Coast region, because the scenic beauty reminds me of Southern Oregon, and culturally it's got that mixture of economic populist/progressive, socially Libertarian, not too crazy about all of these elective foreign wars, and plus everyone around there loves their Redwoods, even in former mill towns like Ukiah....

Only been through a couple times, but more of a "drive-through" with minimal overnight stays (Was in a hurry to get back from the Industrial Midwest back out to Oregon).  But tons of respect for the great state of South Dakota, and its strong "Prairie Populist" and Progressive traditions going back to the founding of the State, with small farmers at odds with the big money bankers, railroad barons, and large scale cattle ranchers....

Oregon actually adopted some items in its political character as a result of some of the progressive experiments going on in South Dakota....

Also, way back in the early '90s met about half a dozen "Peace Punk" rockers that all migrated to Eugene at the same time when I was living down there.... good folk and seems like a pretty cool town from everything I've heard.

Much more variety of scenery than Nebraska, so would suggest it as an alternate route for anyone driving from places like Chicago out to the Northwest, although I still have a whole lotta love for Omaha and Lincoln in particular....

Oregon is probably my favorite state. Not only is Portland and the surrounding area beautiful, but the rest of the state is incredible. FS, of course.

I stayed for a few days near Crater Lake in Medford and even the surrounding scenery around Crater Lake had such incredible natural beauty. Rolling planes dead ending into the foothills of the mountain.

And the coast! Oh the coast of Oregon! The Oregon dunes are incredible, even if my visit coincided with 55 degrees and rain in July. The old industrial towns along the shoreline are quaint, beautiful and full of regional history.

And the people are incredible in Oregon. It's the kind of nice that people say "Midwestern nice" is, without the self-absorbed nature of "Midwestern nice."

Y'all drive like crap in Oregon, though. Tongue

The G-CO avatar is actually pretty funny when you think what the state is currently famous for.

I've never been there, but Kentucky is the sister state of West Virginia AND elected Rand Paul, so definitely a top tier state.
