In 2016, Hillary Clinton defeats Donald Trump by a comfortable margin. The Democrats also won control of the Senate by winning Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Indiana in addition to Illinois and New Hampshire. Democrats gain seats in the house, but Republicans keep control with 235 seats.

During the 2020 Republican primaries, Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner, who was reelected in 2018 with 54% of the vote, defeated Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Tom Cotton, Mike Pence, Nikki Haley and Jeff Flake for the nomination. He faces President Clinton in the 2020 election. Hillary's approval somewhat improved since the midterms. Who wins?
