Kingdom of Spain
King Ferdinand VI
January, 1756

- The Marquis of Amarillas is made the viceroy of New Spain

- Stimulation of Commerce in the Americas. Any Spanish ship, if previously authorized, can now conduct trade freely in the Americas to increase profit and decrease fraud

- Modernization of the Navy. The Naval budget is increased and our shipyard capacities increased.

- My brother, the King of Naples will be allowed to rule in peace as the heir to Spain

I am also proud to announce the wedding and marriage between my niece, Maria Luisa, daughter of the King of Naples and George, Prince of Wales, heir to the British Crown.

I'm asking Spain for clarification. Are they still in alliance with France or not?

Yes

His Majesty, King Ferdinand VI of Spain, declares that the alliance between the Kingdom of Spain and the Kingdom of France is hereby dissolved. The King of France insulted His Majesty in private relations and has fallen out of favor with the King.

His Majesty, Ferdinand VI, seeks peace and Spain will not be joining the war at this time but our troops are being readied as a precaution. Also, our defenses along the French border are to be refitted and modernized.

Statement from the King in Spain on the War:
The Kingdom of Spain will NOT at this moment be joining the war. We have seen conflicting sides of facts on both sides and do not think it is in our interests to choose a side but instead will try to be an instrument of peace in Europe. Both sides are going to be traded with and fighting in Spanish ports and territory will not be tolerated at all.

On New World colonization:
We will immediately be sending expeditions into California for the purpose of colonizing it.

On the Court of the King:
My stepmother, Elisabeth Farnese will have her voice heard by the king but she will not be given more than any other advisor to the King.

The French and their war partners are hereby banned from trading in Spanish ports after having breached Spanish neutrality. Both sides of the war are being frowned upon by their actions and it is with reluctance that the king makes this declaration but is a necessary one.

Regulations on trade in the Americas will be relaxed to hopefully become more profitable. The Spanish Crown is extremely saddened by the war and how much life has been taken and urges the powers of Europe to stop this madness at once. The Spanish Empire will remain neutral and urges Naples to do the same.
