Sweet = Bread with jelly, cakes, muffins etc.

Sour = sausage, bacon, eggs, cheese etc.

For me: definitely sweet breakfast, even though most in my family prefer sour breakfast

For example, today I had baguette with strawberry jelly and hot chocolate.

I think the better word to use there is savoury, rather than sour.

So with that, savoury.

I like a hearty, meaty breakfast. Sausage, ham, bacon, cheese, and non-sweet breads, like bagels and buttered toast are staples.

Impossible for me to choose since I love both equally. So, I'll say the best of both worlds and choose mixed.

I guess cereals fall under sweet? I find this to be a bit of a weird/useless distinction, I never think of food this way.

I love both of them, but hagelslag gives it to sweet. Sprinkles. On bread. Think about that Yankees.

Mixed I guess. Oatmeal at work (take in the Quaker packets). Sometimes I don't eat breakfast, esp if I'm busy. If it's a weekend and I have my fridge stocked, sometimes I make a typical American (or English) breakfast, eggs, toast, muffin, tea/coffee.

An ideal breakfast for me is 2 eggs (sunny-side up), 2 strips of bacon, homefries with peppers and onions, rye toast with butter and black coffee. Not a better way to start your morning in the world.

Duck egg shakshuka is the best, obviously. It's my go to breakfast on weekends.

Scrambled eggs on toast is a good quick breakfast, as is kaya toast with a soft-boiled egg and teh tarik, although I drink Americano instead of milk tea at home.

Nasi lemak or idlis and sambar are great, but I don't have the time or energy to make them at home.

"sour" is odd way to refer to those foods.  Savory would work better, at least to this ear.

And that's how I voted.  Sweets are for the soft.

I usually drink a mountain dew for my pre noon caffeine. Not sure if that counts as sweet, sour, or both.

Over medium but this.  I just so rarely eat breakfast.

When I remember to eat breakfast, usually sour.

Though I've gone for sweet when in a rush or just need something.

Sweet.

Oatmeal w/out brown sugar, Pancakes or French Toast w/out Syrup, they don't work.  Also a sucker for a good filled croissant or donut....and all of it needs hot chocolate.

Leave the savoury for busy days that demand calories.
