As a fan of the Bears (my 2nd favorite team), that will sadly be true this year.

As fans of Da Bears, do you blame John Fox or the asshats that put together the roster?

The management who puts the roster should be blamed far more than Fox to me.

The management who puts the roster should be blamed far more than Fox to me.

1a on who should be blamed is Phil Emery, with 1b being Jerry Angelo, for doing such a terribly poor job of building a roster from the draft. So few draft picks actually amounted to anything, and they were usually off the team in a few years. Bust after bust after bust ruined this franchise.

The next group to blame is the McCaskey family and Emery for destroying anything the Bears had by hiring Marc Trestman. It was a dumb decision at the time and it is a dumb decision looking back at it. Just a moronic move on a guy who has no business in this league.

We should recognize that Fox might be a good coach, but we can't expect him to make a football contender out of a trash roster. That being said, Fox should take the blame for losses like the Jaguars loss last year. We seem to lose every close game, and a good coach should be able to squeeze at least one of those out, like the GB game last December. It would also be nice to have a somewhat inspiring coach rather than one who appears to be asleep on the sideline. If we handed Lovie's last team over to Fox, then maybe I would feel good about having him as my coach. But right now, he just seems kinda helpless out there and it feels like a waste of time.

I guess its still too early to determine whether Ryan Pace knows what he is doing as GM. But we will probably find out soon. I am not one to automatically assume this Glennon-to-Trubisky experiment will be a failure, but the pressure is on now to start getting better.

USA Today has the Colts pegged for last in their division - but the AFC South to me is a division which could be like how the NFC South had been in the past - worst to first happening a lot and no real standout team that is utterly head and shoulders above the rest. They had your same SB pick though with the Pats 19-0 (which I don't think will happen). Why are you confident?

You watch the NFL in France?

Did you spend time here?

I am also curious especially as most self-identifying American socialists I know don't have time for the NFL except to acknowledge Colin Kaepernick's protests against the national anthem or complain about it. Many hate watching sports altogether.

The AFC South is largely a crapshoot. While the defense may be iffy, when Luck is healthy, I have a lot of trust in the team. That's the main thing to consider. Luck hasn't been healthy the last two years, and their record is a reflection of that.

Another thing to consider is that Ballard replaced Ryan Grigson, who was legitimately awful in his tenure with the team. Although his impact won't be immediate, I believe he did a great job with the draft and has made a few small acquisitions to supplement the defense and positions of need.

The last thing to consider is that the division is extremely weak. Besides the Colts, the team I have the most amount of faith in is the Titans (I actually have them in the playoffs too), but they do not have the experience that the Colts have going deep into the playoffs/regular season. But in general, I think Murray will regress and I'm not as excited about their offensive weapons as most people, although I acknowledge that their defense is stronger than the Colts.

I also feel like the Texans are severely overrated; they have no top-tier skill players on offense (Hopkins and Miller regressed last year) and their defense has little support for Clowney and Watt. Their QB situation is also just a mess and I can't see Savage or Watson leading them into the playoffs. I know they did last year, but the Titans and Colts have both improved a lot since then. And the Raiders playoff win was a fluke b/c of Carr's injury.

While the Jaguars may be okay too, they still have Bortles as their QB, no alternate and an overall weak roster. I'll wait for them to have a solid season or a significant roster change until I peg them in the playoffs.

I believe Luck not being healthy now and doubts for start of the season is the reason USA Today picked them last. It's not like they have a Jimmy G waiting in the wings.
