Japan has a very big economy, but the western world doesn't hear very much about Japanese politics.

Which prime ministers do you know?

Yoshiro Mori was kind of a walking disaster and did lots of doltish things.

Yeah, working backwards I'll try and make a stab

Shinzo Abe - incumbent bastard
Noda - surreally uncharismatic DJP
Naoto Kan - soft left, had spectacularly bad response to the 2011 tsunami and nuclear disasters
Yukio Hatoyama - family dynasty figure, bit of a prat
Taro Aso - wanker, hard right
Fukoda (?) - part of the left of LDP, resigned for no reason

Then is Shinzo Abe, making his incompetent first stab at power. Then before him is Koizumi although I may have forgotton someone (looked it up, no I didn't). Then

Mori - ayy lmao
Guy before Mori died, can't remember his name or the guy who came before him

Then came the years of chaos after the 1993 election with Muryama (socialist, I think the first to actually apologise for war crimes) , Hata who served about three months and Hosokawo (himself a grandson of a WW2 PM) who was the only opposition PM that really could have challenged LdP's dominance IMO.

A lot of the rest are notable for what happened to them, but I always get names mixed round like the guy who slept with a geisha and the one who Bush Sr vomited on. then thee is Tojo obviously.

The only ones I remember are Abe and Tojo.

I do know that there's been eight Christian Japanese PMs, despite Christianity being pretty small in Japan.

I'm familiar with the DPJ era ones (Hatoyama, Noda, Kan... am I forgetting any?).

Only Aso (don't ask why). I also vaguely know the one that was in power in the 80s (close relation with Reagan?) and the one that Bush 41 vomited at, but I can't remember their names.
