(SOW stands for "Share our wealth" by the way)

Huey Long survives his assassination attempt and runs for the Presidency under the third party, "Share our wealth" ticket, and runs a successful campaign on Obama 2008 levels (not necessarily the same results, just that the campaign was that effective at messaging and reading the mood of the public). Everything else stays the same, so the economy is no better or worse, WWII still doesn't start till 1939 etc,. What is the result? Discuss with maps.

Long's past behavior is too much like Mussolini and Hitler to win, and Roosevelt will exploit this.

Roosevelt wins every state except Louisiana, which Long wins, and Vermont, which Landon wins.

Why does he win Maine?

Maine probably is very close, and it's very possible Landon wins, but Landon is probably weakened by having to deal with two major opponents, which costs him either Maine or Vermont. I chose Maine.
