New Election: 1952 Louisiana Gubernatorial Democratic Primary Election Results

This was the only time Hale Boggs ran statewide, and I would have voted for him.

First primary results are excellent example of regional (sometimes - residual) political preferences. Historically Longite parishes in North-Central part of state - for Spacht, more conservative anti-Long - for Kennon, overly segregationist (mainly in the North, but we see Leander Perez machine in Plaqueminas in action too) - McLemore, Acadiana - LeBlanc. Boggs was, probably, the best candidate, but his base (Orleans +suburbs) was too narrow.
