Econ: 26
Social: 34

Not terribly surprising. This quiz definitely pushes my econ score to the right and social score to the left in comparison to the PM.

Which of the two quiz results do you believe more accurately represents your political views?

I'd say both do but in different ways, both indicative of the era in which they were written. Since Trumpism scrambled our political divisions, it's harder to define what left and right are on many issues. I do think there is a difference between what we'd have called "social issues" for multiple decades now and the nationalist vs cosmopolitan questions that are often used here. For instance, can one not be a socially conservative cosmopolitan? But with two axes I suppose one must be blur some distinctions.

"Neoliberal"

I will choose to interpret that as referring to the "neoliberals" of mid-century Germany.

Leading questions on social side - what do I personally think vs what do I think the government should do. For instance I don't agree with a lot of groupthink social shaming. And identity politics so this quiz like the Gutman plot reduces the number of libertarians and classical liberals.

I guess I would say

Economic 48
Social 12 maybe?

Race has little to no biological basis and is primarily a social construct.

This is an objective fact and should have no correlation with political views.

Sickle-cell anemia says hello. Roll Eyes

Obviously genetic traits can show up in ethnic groups. Doesn't mean that "race" is real. A Greek is not necessarily more closely related to an Icelandic than he is to an Ethiopian.

Try harder next time.

Once again, the DNA evidence does not agree with your predetermined conclusion:

Stop. You're just humiliating yourself. Ethnicity exists, obviously. Genetic traits among closely-related people exist, obviously.

The idea that humanity is divided into 3 (or is it 4? 5?) "races" that are all more closely related within each other than without is not supported by DNA evidence. It's all a big continuum.

Arguing that a variable is continuous rather than discrete is very different from arguing that said variable is nonexistent.

Which is great, except in this case there's significantly more genetic variation, for example, within Africans than between the average African and the average European

Angry  "Libertarian"  Angry

"Socialist"

My views on immigration, multiculturalism, climate change, racism, and foreign policy push my social score much lower than it shows on other tests I take. IMO that section wasn't very well done.

"Progressive"

I feel like this test misses out on weighing issues that are important to you. Treating all of these issues as equally important is probably skewing me further to the left than I actually am.

Social shaming is fine, if it had specifically mentioned being fired from your job or censored by tech companies over your views I might have answered differently.

Fyi, a lot of the social questions are inherently cultural, and as a European resident this skews it to be more liberal than I would be considered in my own country. But this is no worse than many political tests.

Race has little to no biological basis and is primarily a social construct.

This is an objective fact and should have no correlation with political views. Really, there could be a third "well-informed vs. poorly-informed" axis with questions like that on it.

Also, despite being a Hillary and Macron fanboy, I came out at (10, 5), and I doubt either of those politicians would be significantly more to the Right, so the category labels may not be very accurate.

It depends on how you define "race." To say that there is "no biological basis" for various phenotypes is just wrong. The issue you have is with the broad categorizations.

In any case, 29/22, or "Neoliberal."
