I know our friends in the Southwestern United States are not unfamiliar with extreme heat, but this heat wave looks like it could potentially break records in one of the world's hottest regions. So, I hope any posters in the region extending from the Texas Panhandle to California take the necessary precautions to protect yourselves, your loved ones, and your pets.

I have a lot of grading to do, but I'll do my best to spend some time outdoors this weekend.

The state should provide air conditioners to those who can't afford them. It's ridiculous that anyone in these areas wouldn't have access to one.

Someone gets it!

It was 80 out today, for this area, that's bad news.

This is not the news I needed to hear. I'm getting married Saturday and on Sunday we're flying in to Phoenix. Fortunately, we're not staying there, but headed northeast towards the petrified forest national park, but still!

From Chicago, the only difference is the humidity. But, in Frisco, it doesn't get that hot.

Congratulations on getting married! I hope everything goes well for you two. A trip to the Petrified Forest sounds like an excellent honeymoon (?) in my book.

It's not the only sight we'll be taking in, but we'll heading that way when we deplane in Phoenix.

Phoenix is actually my hometown. Right now, I'm stuck in Portsmouth in Virginia and I hope to be back by July 8th as I plan on attending Trent Frank's town hall and seeing if he gets yelled at.

There was actually an article about why Phoenix gets very hot during the summer.
