Personally, I'd be willing to live in most of the states on that list. But if I had to choose just one, it would have to be Alaska - ideally, either in the city of Anchorage or Juneau.

Off the top of my head (might rethink later):

Nebraska ... love Omaha
Wyoming ... Beautiful state
Kansas ... Kansas City suburbs are very nice, and KC (right across the border!) itself is awesome
Idaho ... Another very pretty state
Montana ... See Idaho but a bit less nice, from my limited knowledge
South Dakota ... The Dakotas are just fine, but this one is better
North Dakota ... The Dakotas are just fine, but this one is worse
Alaska ... Beautiful state but too far away, WiFi is ridiculously expensive, corky shlt like that
Nevada ... Desert and the trash heap that is Vegas (where one should only ever spend a weekend)?  Nah
New Mexico ... I consider this one of the worst states in the Union, honestly (which is just so weird, because it doesn't vote Republican!!!!!)

1. Alaska (unparalleled beauty in America; vast wilderness, unique culture, relative isolation)
2. Idaho (amazing beautiful state; has the stunning Snake Rive, vast wilderness areas, part of the palouse region, and the gorgeous city of Boise)
3. Wyoming (another amazingly beautiful state; Yellowstone and Grand Teton Parks, high standard of living)
4. Montana (yet another stunning state, yet has less impressive cities and a bit more socioeconomic problems; but Gallatin County and Glacier National Park largely make up for that)
5. Kansas (like RINO Tom said, the Kansas City suburbs are awesome; not to mention the university town of Lawrence and the town of Manhattan)
6. South Dakota (Mount Rushmore, the Black Hills, the Badlands, and of course, the booming city of Sioux Falls)
7. Nebraska (Omaha and Lincoln are some of the highest rated cities in the country)
8. North Dakota (Fargo and Bismarck are supposed to be excellent small cities with booming economies and a high standard of living, but the state lacks substantive natural beauty)
9. New Mexico (Despite having a unique culture with a long-established Hispanic community and adobe houses, the city of Santa Fe, and numerous beautiful natural sites, the state has many chronic socioeconomic problems)
10. Nevada (Like New Mexico, Nevada has a lot of chronic socioeconomic problems, plus it has the city of Las Vegas, which is not somewhere I'd want to live, and vast emptiness; however, it does have a beautiful region right along Lake Tahoe)

1. New Mexico (Beautiful state with a unique culture)
2. North Dakota (Beautiful state plus a few of my family lives there)
3. Montana (Beautiful state with good politics)
4. Kansas (Has some great cities. Also has family, although not near the cities)
5. Nevada (Beautiful state with a few good cities)
6. Nebraska (Has some good cities as well)
7. South Dakota (Stunning state with Mount Rushmore)
8. Idaho (Boise is a plus and good landscape, but meh)
9. Wyoming (Beautiful, but too rural)
10. Alaska (I wouldn't move here because it would make traveling to the other states a major hassle.

None, but if I had to pick one I'd pick Alaska, because it's cold and as far removed as possible from the Lower 48 without being in the tropics.

Just saying, if CT keeps going the way it has, we'll be one of the "least densely populated states" soon.  Sad

Connecticut's land area is so small that you'd have to have less than half the population of Wyoming to become just the tenth least densely populated state.

You can remove your vote and re-vote for New Mexico, if you'd like.

Vegas baby!!

(Which the dad in me has to point out in fact has a good school system, plenty of safe stable neighborhoods, and good local government services).

Missoula or Santa Fe are runner ups.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but those things are true for every other option as well, and most of those aren't in the middle of a desert, full of drunk tourists.

I'm generally not a fan of low population density areas, but I have to go with my birth state (NV).
