Source: No talk of May stepping down in Tory HQ. All about "getting on with the job" whether or not she will survive a leadership challenge is the question.

My hate for May is getting personal lol. Just resign and let someone like Johnson or Hammond be PM please... You almost lost an election to Jeremy Corbyn...

Conservatives 310
Labour 258
SNP 34
LD 12
DUP 10
SF 7
Plaid Cymru 3
GRN 1
IND 1

Conservatives+DUP are 2 seats short now assuming SF doesn't take their seats.

14 seats to go. The Tories should be able to get at least two of those.

OK last thing before I sleep and I'm very tired but THIS IS NOT AN EXAMPLE OF IRONY. Rain on your wedding day my ass. I really dislike this song.

But titling an unironic song "Ironic" is ironic.

@LordAshcroft
Sinn Fein have confirmed they won't be taking up their 7 seats so with 4 Speakers also not voting the overall majority is 320...

For the four speakers, is this like the US House speakership where the speaker(s) don't usually vote but are allowed to vote if they want to, or are they literally prohibited from voting?

Conservative+DUP has what it needs now.

Conservative 312
Labour 258
SNP 34
LD 12
DUP 10
SF 7
Plaid Cymru 3

So if you get 292,316 votes, then you are the DUP and you get 10 seats and huge influence over the government, potentially tipping it (or not) into a majority coalition.

But whatever you do, you had better be sure not to increase your votes up to 515,902. If you do that, then you are the Green Party and only get 1 seat.

Ceredigion goes to Plaid

"Majority" of 104

(Why do they call it a majority when they only won 29% of the vote?)

Where did all this Torie support in Scotland come from? Did they thread the needle between SNP splitting with Labour or the LDs depending on the seat?

It looks like the wave of seats they've taken up there just saved their bacon.

Seriously, I'm no expert on British elections, but when's the last time the Tories had this many seats in Scotland?

How many more seats can Labour conceivably get?
There's Kensington, Dudley North, and the Cornwall seats left.

Feel free to ignore if this has already been discussed, but what has the relationship historically been between the Tories and DUP? Is a coalition all but inevitable, or will there be a good deal of wrangling between the two?

Let's just say this, I'll be surprised if they form a formal coalition. It will probably just be some sort of soft association

Wow what a night. I can believe Scotland, but I really can't believe where those CON votes would have come from. SNP? I just don't understand anyone swinging from SNP to CON over these two years. But anyway...

Sad LD couldn't gain more Remain seats, but they could have done a lot worse than +5.

Five North East! My wife's old home! 1 vote!!!! Thanks just incredible.

Lots of credit to Corbyn. He proved the haters wrong. I'm happy for him and I hope he continues to do well in this opposition.

Bye bye May!!!

1.Unfortunate Alex Salmond lost.  Whatever you may think of Scottish independence, whenever I've seen him interviewed, it's clear he is a brilliant person and a capable economist.

2.From BBC, it sounds like the Conservatives are trying to pin the blame on Lynton Crosby, just as the Canadian Conservatives did.  I don't know if he's really to blame, but it seems conservatives are really slow to learn that you can't just take mindless negative cookie cutter slogans and apply them indiscriminately to every English speaking country.
