There hasn't been that much chatter about an anticipated bombshell but I am highly hopeful the show runners provide us with material. I guess they're taking it easy on us given the last 12 days. Every good show needs some down time to let us absorb all the material.

Also Comey will be testifying, so that will be a huge mega story in itself. I'd say no bombshells tonight or this week.

If Comey had a 'bring down Trump" bombshell it would have been leaked by now.  Oh it might cause some buzz but I don't think there's going to be this huge mega-orgasm testimony they're expecting.

I'd say nothing until Comey if not Trump says/does something during the trip.

I am not sure if he has more bombshells to drop but his testimony would be of interest and probably keep the story alive. Comey seems to have picked the Senate Intelligence Committee for a reason, to be interrogated by Warner and Burr.

To be fair, Comey has orchestrated this round of leaks and could be saving a couple for the testimony. I don't think this is the testimony that brings down the President, no. Will it be a piece, I think so.

I assume that there will be more information trickling out this week.

The writers have amazing stamina and imagination. The story is also holding together nicely. I applaud them wholeheartedly. Even if they made me look silly twice, thinking there were no bombshells coming.

The WaPo story cites "officials" without identifying them as US officials. Maybe just an oversight on their part, but probably what Rosenstein is referring to. Either way, WaPo needs to clarify which country these "officials" represent.

"The special counsel overseeing the investigation into Russia’s role in the 2016 election is interviewing senior intelligence officials as part of a widening probe that now includes an examination of whether President Trump attempted to obstruct justice, officials said."

His insight is into Comey-related matters, so there would appear to be Comey news coming shortly.

I hope the Russia thing lays low for a while. I'd rather have the media focus on healthcare at the moment.

There's pretty good evidence something Comey related is coming in the next 24 hours (see the tweet a few posts above). That could range from "Comey told a friend that Trump said some suspicious-sounding thing to him once," to "Comey produces text from Trump reading 'if you don't stop the Russia investigation, I'm going to fire you.'"

Wittes sent another "tick tick tick" tweet today and followed it up with this:

Maybe something solid on collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign?  That would be my guess.

Wittes also just retweeted this:

Matt Singer‏ @matthewjsinger
Fox has shifted to "collusion isn't illegal" rather than "it didn't happen." Trump now tweets "no tapes" rather than "no collusion."

So something collusion-related is looking likely, but Wittes isn't in a position to know issues like that unless they came to him through Comey. In other words, if someone doesn't trust Comey, they probably won't believe whatever bombshell is coming unless there's very hard evidence such as a tape or video.

Unfortunately, Benjamin Wittes has retired his tick tick tick warning. However, I did notice this:
