And I think Pelosi has exactly the right idea on that. Midterms are simply not issue-driven elections. Midterms focus on the president and their party, and presidential elections are issue campaigns.

Overall I think I like what I am seeing so far. Obviously some people not only don't trust the party to do it right, but expect them to fail, but I am more optimistic on this.

If they really think talking about "ethics" is going to help them win the House, they're going to lose.

That line "They haven’t yet figured out what that agenda would be, other than not repealing Obamacare" is the thing that makes me worrisome for their chances.

It took you longer than I thought to start complaining. Interesting.

I will say I agree Rahm is wrong because Howard Dean was the brainchild behind 2006

LOL, I only just noticed the thread. And I don't see how anyone expected progressives to love that Rahm would be coming up with midterm strategy. How'd his telling progressives to go screw themselves repeatedly when he was chief of staff work out for the 2010 House elections? And shouldn't he be in prison for covering up a murder?

I don't get why that would make his obviously successful 2006 strategy a no-go though...

Eh, 30 House seats when the President is that unpopular isn't that impressive. I don't like Chuck Schumer either, but 6 Senate seats was the more impressive thing that year.

Rahm Emanuel literally fought tooth and nail to hide dashcam video of police brutality against a black teenager. He is an absolute piece of crap and no one should be defending him.

Democrats already had dozens of seats that were carried by Bush. I would say the 30 seat gain was quite impressive.
