It's hard to even make out some of her words.

Whose idea was it to have her speak?

I doubt they were worth hearing.

Traditionally black college or university? That is a goof.

She speaking for education makes about as much sense as a prostitute speaking out for chastity.

Omg, I CANNOT believe she actually thought it would be smart to go speak at a HBCU. My god she is so dumb.

As I said on the Ryan trip, give her credit for going. Democrats should do this more often - go to the places where they know they'll be booed and give it to em straight. Visiting that plant sure didn't kill Macron.

This entire administration is a mess.
You cant be too shocked.
I can see after 4 years, that this will be THEE WORST PRESIDENT in modern times. The polls will show this. I'm calling it now, 3-3/4 years before this charade is finally over.

If I thought that she went knowingly, I'd agree. But I suspect she's just grossly out of touch.

That's all those losers can do, protest. Then when they enter the real world in jobs they understand why people don't take them seriously. They will never be taken seriously.

What does this mean? Do you even know? What does it have to do with the topic at hand?

This is especially ironic, given that Betsy Devos is a child of privilege that surely hasn't had to experience "the real world in jobs".

She has. She had jobs despite her wealth.

Booing someone because you disagree with someone. There is a reason why millennials are unemployable. They  are spoiled. She shouldn't be Secretary of Education by the way. She should be RNC chair.

I think the notion of "tolerance" is misused in these contexts, and a more accurate term for how the left sees themselves would be "open-minded." Tolerance has something of a "thank you sir, may I have another one?" vibe to it, while being open-minded means you're willing to listen to arguments from competing view points, and bring many voices to the table, but doesn't mean you have to continue listening to them over and over again after they've expressed their viewpoints and arguments and you're still not convinced.

We were open-minded when Betsy DeVos gave her confirmation testimony. We were not impressed by it, and have no further reason to listen to her unless she wants to actually bring something new to the table.

Did she really think that she would get such a standing ovation in a HBCU? She should've thought about not attending before saying that HBCUs are "pioneers" of school "choice."

Update: She was wearing doctoral robes which she never has earned. More reason to boo her. What an insult to those students!

The faculty and staff at these HCBUs need to stop letting themselves be used as props for this evil administration. Do they allow their institutions to be degraded for fear of losing funding?

I wouldn't even attend my graduation if Betsy Devos was the commencement speaker.
