Centrist Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.V.) runs to show the Democratic Party that they cannot be the party of the urban coasts and suburban hotspots, but a working class, Middle America part as well. He wins the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination by running a little to the right, and wins, despite some suspicion from Sens. Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, and Ron Wyden, who lose to Manchin.

President Trump survives a challenge from Centrist Republican Rep. Charlie Dent (R-Pa.). Who wins?

I can only imagine how chaotic an election between Donald Trump and Joe Manchin would be.

Why do MI, WI, and OH vote D but MN and IA vote R?

I'd actually vote for Jill Stein over Manchin.

MI, WI, and OH are good fits for Manchin, whereas MN is a terrible fit for Manchin and Trump is extremely, extremely strong in Iowa.
