Kind of both, but ultimately a failure.

I obviously voted HP, since he lead the attempts to destroy my country and cause a second holocaust, and as such is one of the reasons the Palestinians foolishly got themselves (and us) into the current nigh-unsolvable situation.

He was basically the Lyndon Johnson of Egypt:

- Ambitious domestic anti-poverty programs

- Foreign policy aimed at expanding/maintaining his country's sphere of influence, leading to wars in Israel and Yemen that drained him of economic and political capital (he died in office under somewhat suspicious circumstances, but if Egypt were a democracy he likely would have been defeated for reelection or been forced by parliament to resign)

- Incredibly abrasive, larger-than-life personality

One of the biggest villains of post-WW2 world history, to be honest.

One of the great founders of postwar history, along with Joseph Stalin, FDR, Clement Attlee, Jawaharlal Nehru, David Ben-Gurion, Mao Zedong, Konrad Adenauer, Charles de Gaulle, Josip Broz Tito, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Ho Chi Minh, Chiang Kai-Shek, Francisco Franco, Lee Kuan Yew, DF Malan, Sukarno, and Juan Peron. Soul of the modern Sisiite Egyptian state and a legend.
