Virginia - Georgia
North Carolina - Missouri
South Carolina - Utah
Florida - Texas
Alabama - Indiana
Kentucky - Kansas
West Virginia - Arkansas

This whole system breaks down when you get to Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa.  They are all good matches for one another, but all border, and don't really match with anyone else.

Florida is nothing like either Louisiana or Texas. Both are much more socially conservative.

You'd say otherwise after experiencing Mardi Gras in the French Quarter, or Spring Break on South Padre Island.

Anyway, Florida is full of Catholic Cubans, Elderly Jews, and White rednecks.  Plenty of social conservatives, as the Terri Schaivo (Shiaivo? Chiavio?) case demonstrated.
