Putin and Erdogan are the only relevant answers, but I'd say Putin by a hair.

Turkey seems slightly better than Russia at the moment, but if Erdogan wants to turn Turkey in some sort of Islamic republic I'd probably be better off in Russia.

If I had to rank, considering that I'm a gay Jew who really likes his free speech:

1. Putin
2. Erdogan

3. Mao

4. Mussolini (IF it did not involve the German conquest of Italy)

5. Hussein
6. Gadhafi

7. Stalin

8. Pol Pot
9. Assad

10. Either Kim

11. Hitler

Oh God.  Write-in: Netanyahu (because all the rest here are total dictators, who don't give a damn about their people).

may i ask all the putin-voters why, if they need to shut up about politics, economical and cultural issues anyway, why they would want to live in a country kind of ruled by hyper-state-capitalism without a real safety net, combined with a draging economy AND cold weather?

Putin (barely a dictator), Erdogan (ditto), and Assad (who is the good guy anyway).

since you are kind of a paelo-conservative, one (or more specifically: I) can never be sure, which parts of your postings are serious or trolling.

Erdogan, because Turkey is still a quasi-democracy (at least for now).

In Russia, one can at least plan a democracy. Civic/Civil Platform, People's Freedom Party, and Yabloko are all at least somewhat against Putin, as is Mikhail Prokhorov. In Turkey, there is little realistic opposition to Erdogan.

Assuming this means we live in the country during the times they reigned, I'd have to choose Mussolini or Erdogan for the food and climate. But Erdogan is definitely preferable to Il Duce
