Most white suburban areas are republican, even if many did trend away from Trump.

Why is that so, though? Is it simply about because of taxes, or something else?

Social conservatism (but also social liberalism) is actually stronger with well-off suburbanites than it is with the working class, who never really thinks about abortion or transgenderism.
