Iowa and New Mexico? They're both center-populist, and often vote alike in Presidential elections. But they're different in other ways.

I'd agree with that, both a socially conservative, economically populist states which have fallen out of love with the national democratic party largely over its social liberalism while locally Democrats are still dominant and boast a strong political organisations in both states.

Maine an Oregan for the most part, but the eastern half of Oregan is quite a bit more consrvative tha Maine

Washington & Minn somewhat.

texas & GA both have very conservative suburbs

PA & MI are fairly close, but Philly's suburbs are quite a bit more liberal than Detroit's suburbs.

Both are solidly Republican, but Utah much moreso than Kansas.  Kansas also has more of a populist lean, and more conservative Democrats, while in many cases Utah Dems tend to be very liberal.

I'd add Minnesota and Pennsylvania.
