Leaning HPs, but I wouldn't judge a person simply due to their income. There is no longer any correlation between partisanship and income among non-Hispanic Whites.

Often not all that put together, but in my experience, nicer and more virtuous people than the rich. FFs.

I voted FF becasue, despite what some of you might think based on my political views, I am not actually an elitist.

I'm sure that a group this big includes good and bad people, just like rich people.  But, while I know plenty of middle and upper class people, I don't think I know any poor people, so I can't really answer.

Well, they don't exit poll that, so I'm skeptical.  In 2008 (the last time it was done), there was.

-They do exit poll that, and John McCain didn't lose Darien, CT or win Lake County, MI.

Considering that they make up the vast majority of humanity, my opinion of them ought to be the same as my opinion of humanity as a whole. So FF because I refuse to be a misanthropist on principle.

That's why I said "on principle".

Am I the only one who thinks the way this question was worded was atrocious?

Anyway, I won't vote FF or HP because to generalize about such an enormous and diverse group of people is anathema to me. Of course, exceptions such as embracing a positive opinion of humanity would incline one to vote FF, which is both admirable and respectable, but I'm largely opposed to judging humans on anything but an individual basis.

Mixed. I'm extremely wary of any sentiment that verges on the idea that poverty is ennobling.
I guess I shouldn't of empty quoted(old habits die hard), as that isn't really what I meant. I of course see the poor as a revolutionary class(the proletariat and lumpenproletariat) that will free the world of bossism, usury and authority.

It's stupid to FF/HP a group based on their class (obvious/normal)

...but in my, anecdotal experience, poor people tend to suck more than non-poor people.  YMMV

Surely you acknowledge that, in addition to conservatives who simply don't care about the needs of the poor, there are many, many Republicans who legitimately believe that conservative economic policies will actually end up benefiting the poor more than increased government control over their economic fortunes, yes?  Those people might be misguided - even stupid - in your eyes, but they're not mean-spirited.

This pretty much. I don't care for conservatives who moralize poverty and blame poor people in general for their problems, but I know enough individual cases where it actually is the case that people are at fault for their circumstances.
