I get Donald's tweets direct for a reason.

Trump has really kneecapped the media by calling them dishonest.

Everyone always knew it, we just needed an anti-establishment candidate to come out and say it.

Despite copping most of the spray, CNN is enjoying increased readership, as are other paid online media services such as Washington Post and the New York Times.

Watching Trump troll the media on Twitter is very entertaining.

Donald knows the game inside out.

There's no such thing as "the news media" as one general item, but comparing Trump directly to individual sources of news, as shown by PPP, finds individual news sources like CNN and NYT as more trusted than Trump.

Perhaps they had Breitarsch Fake News and Infowarts in mind. In that sense Trump is indeed more trustworthy than the media.

Breitbart is far more reliable and trustworthy than fake news outlets like The Washington Post and CNN.

-CNN may be more trustworthy than Trump (barely), but the NYT is far, far less trustworthy.

I get Donald's tweets direct for a reason.

Trump has really kneecapped the media by calling them dishonest.

Everyone always knew out, we just needed an anti-establishment candidate to come out and say it.

Despite copping most of the spray, CNN is enjoying increased readership, as are other paid online media services such as Washington Post and the New York Times.

Watching Trump troll the media on Twitter is very entertaining.

Donald knows the game inside out.

This.

Also, the usual suspects (the media/nevertrumpers) are criticizing Trump for tweeting this: "My daughter Ivanka has been treated so unfairly by @Nordstrom. She is a great person -- always pushing me to do the right thing! Terrible!"

They say this is 'un-presidential'. Give me a break. If the tables were reversed, and Nordstrom gave in to activists and dropped, say, a 'Michelle Obama' line because they didn't like Obama, does anyone actually believe that the press would be criticizing him? Of course not. They'd be too busy trying to drive Nordstrom out of business.

People are tired of these double standards. And they're tired of liberals going after people, their businesses, and their jobs because they hold opinion they don't like.

My personal opinion for why the polls were so undervalued for Trump – and to a lesser extent the rest of the GOP – is because of our liberal dominated media and hollywood. Turn on the tv, and what do you get? Non stop anti-conservative or anti-Trump coverage. Turn on any late night comedian or show, and who’s the butt of every joke? Who always ends up being the bad guys? Who gets branded every day as intolerant, racist, uneducated hicks?

More importantly, conservatives get targeted for their political beliefs in both business and personal lives. If some owner of a company has a view the left doesn’t like, they get boycotted, smeared, bombarded with fake negative reviews, and have their entire personal lives spread to the public. The left goes after people’s businesses, jobs, and livelihoods. And the media encourages it.

Remember Ken Boom? This ordinary guy asked Hillary a questioned that the left didn’t like, and he got publicly doxed by the news media. Apparently he viewed porn on his reddit account, and major networks like CNN, NYT, NBC, Gizmodod, and others saw fit to run stories on that, for no other reason than to embarrass him. Anyone who expresses support for Trump gets vilified and personally destroyed by the media.

The point is, I strongly feel that many people were outright afraid to voice their support of Trump, even to anonymous pollsters.

Trump won the nomination and ultimately the presidency because he was the one guy promising to fight the SOBs trying to destroy them. No one else ever did. And those criticizing Trump over his tweet still don't get it. We are not going to allow this one-sided assault against us to continue any more.

Trump isn't the bully. He's fighting the bullies.

donald just uses the press as scapegoats for all his personal failures and problems, to create a "WE" and "THE OTHERS" situation. his ultimate goal would be to make himself and his groupies the only reliable information source for his fanboys.

and ofc the media is going to increase their scrutiny, if your are attacking it every day and threaten it and throw around lawsuits left and right and make ludicrous statements like spicer, conway et al.

-Nobody reads the New York Times, so of course 50% are gonna say that. If they ever looked at the front page, that number would instantly drop to 25%.

Trump isn't the bully. He's fighting the bullies.

You nailed the reason why Trump got elected. One of the most most common political arguments on this forum against Republicans is a personal attack.

Very rarely, 10-20% of the time, do you see a political debate without the personal insults from the left.

The USA is sick of it. In Australia, I am sick to death of it.

I am not pro-Trump. I am just anti-Bullsh**t.

If Trump comes into Office and can get rid of 90% of the bullsh**t you guys are snowed under, he will have a great legacy.

But one of his legacies regardless of his success will be dismantling "fake and dishonest" media coverage.

Donald is taking the air out of the media machine and telling people you don't have to live through their eyes.

So many people are 'indoctrinated' with the CNN belief system. SAD!

Not really hard to believe.

Conservatives trust Trump and don't trust the media.

Liberals don't trust Trump and don't trust the media either.

So more people trust Trump than the media.

<snip>

Michelle Obama wasn't a fashion designer/businesswoman who was trying to make money off of her President husband's name.  Invalid comparison.
