McKinley/Hobart (R) - 274
Bryan/Sewall (D) - 264

It would be an interesting matchup. It's not a perfect comparison, but I see Bryan's populism fitting well with Trump's base of support and McKinley's industrialism/gold standard policies a reflection of his elite support, which fits better with Clinton.

Bryan wins by a weird coalitions of staunch progressives and the religious right that are still open to not going R at any and every point.

Both Reagan elections

Reagan, Carter, and Mondale are the same ages today that they were in 1980 and 1984

So I didn't put too much though into this one, sorta just felt right as I went through the states. Thought I would have Reagan winning in the end, but Carter eked it out. Feel free to disagree since I'm not even 100% on this.

Pres. Jimmy Carter [D-GA] / VP Walter Mondale [D-MN] – 296 EV's
Fmr. Gov. Ronald Reagan [R-CA] / Fmr. Amb. George H. W. Bush [R-TX] – 242 EV's

Ill do 1896 and 1980(The economic situation is what it was then , and with a hostage crises, only difference is there is no USSR) and wont adjust percentages in each state.

1896:

McKinley 270  49.6%
Bryan 268       50.1%

1980:

Reagan 392 58%
Carter 146   41%

Carter only wins Georgia and West Virginia cause I dont think its possible for Carter to lose either of those states

Now 1912(there is not going to be light shade on here since i wont adjust for percentage )

Taft 252   35.3%
Wilson 168  33.3%
Teddy Roosevelt 118 30.9%

Smith/Robinson
Hoover/Curtis

Smith's too good at debates and throwing around catchphrases...while Hoover has none of that. Catholicism or no is no longer an issue.
