This is the fourth time in U.S. history that we have five living former presidents.

1 : 4 Mar 1861 - 18 Jan 1862 : Van Buren, Tyler, Fillmore, Pierce & Buchanan

2 : 20 Jan 1993 - 22 Apr 1994 : Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan & G.H.W. Bush

3 : 20 Jan 2001 - 5 Jun 2004 : Ford, Carter, Reagan, G.H.W. Bush & Clinton

4 : Since 20 Jan 2017 : Carter, G.H.W. Bush, Clinton, G.W. Bush & Obama

Sadly, unless Trump pulls a Palin and resigns mid-term, we're likelier to go down to 4 than up to 6 next. It's unlikely both Carter and Bush 41 last 4 more years.

Well, he could also be impeached. He would still be a former president.

True. But I think Carter is more likely to be around for a few more years.

Agreed, but there's no guarantee that Herbert Walker will pass on before the passenger of Peanut One. Jimmy's old and he's already had one cancer scare.

H.W. was fine too. Don't want him to pass so early.

I know I'm talking about a man in his nineties but no one wants to see anyone gone.
