A trickle of news is picking up into a stream: Mexicans are starting to boycott Ford (for, ostensibly, "giving up" to Trump and cancelling an investment planned for San Luis Potosi). First it was the Xcaret resort, then a construction company, and now - the governor of Campeche state, who has just announced (as part of an "austerity" package) that his government will stop acquiring any Ford vehicles.

Actually, I think this is stupid. Ford action was, mostly, symbolic (they still have a huge presence down here), and the boycott will, actually, damage the Mexican side of the company the most. But, alas, stupid or not, this is the national feeling these days. The governor, BTW, is a PRIista.

It is going to get ugly. On both sides.
