Antonio's court is not actually that ideologically unbalanced. It in fact is unbalanced only in being over-represented by centrists. I think I know with that court what the gay marriage result would be however. Smiley

True! Cheesy

In fact, constitutional interpretation is one of the few issues where I sometimes find myself in disagreement with many of my fellow liberals. Not that I have any sympathy for the hacktivists of the right side of the court, or even for Kennedyesque moderation. I believe in judicial restraint above all and am pretty wary of activism in general. That's why I think it's good to have a lot of moderates in it. Actually, I would probably disagree with my own court with regard to gay marriage. Tongue

i actually don't think the court should rule that gay marriage is a Constitutional right either. Smiley

Good! If you favor a similar restraint when it comes to campaign finance reform and health care, you've got my appointment locked in! Smiley

CJ Torie presiding,
Antonio V
Badger
Beet
Ernest
Inks
Mikado
Lief
SPC

I selected people based on their ideology and what I perceive to be their judicial temperament, while also trying to get some differing viewpoints in their to foster genuine discussion so it's not just an echo chamber (note especially SPC's selection as the token diehard civil libertarian originalist and Lief's selection as an incredibly pragmatic type who'd certainly keep a keen eye on the greater implications of a ruling). I also thought of names in a hurry, here, so there's probably several superior candidates I'm passing over because I don't want to waste a lot of time thinking them up.

Cheesy d'awwww, thanks guys!

Thank you, BK! Smiley I'm so sorry I forgot to put you in there! Sad Actually, there are many people I missed and not enough spots for all of you... Guess what, I'm going to pull a FDR and expand the SC to 15 Justices, so as to allow more collegiality and to fit in all the people who I feel can't be left out. Grin
