Why is there so much L.A. hatred in this thread? Do you not like perfect weather and attractive people?

I just hate driving

Both the weather and the people are far more attractive in any of the plains states.

A consensus on what constitutes "perfect weather" is impossible to reach, and what makes you think the people in LA are more attractive than in other cities?

I would gladly live in Chicago or New York about equally... but picked Chicago because midwest.

Los Angeles would be interesting.

Philly I haven't visited but the accent drives me insane...

Houston is just so opposite of everything I'm used to.

The most preferable big city to live in would be the one I know the most about (assuming that there isn't an issue about a specific job). Since I live in the Chicago suburbs, Chicago is the big city I know best.

Chicago, but I'd consider NYC if I was well off enough to handle the much higher CoI (you need 50K in NYC what 33K will pay for in Chicago)

Philly I haven't visited but the accent drives me insane...

I've never actually encountered a person who speaks with the accent. I don't know if that says more about me or the city, but I like to think the latter since I enjoy exploring. Maybe I haven't been far south enough?

(And obviously the one I actively chose to live in followed by my hometown. #NeverHouston though feel free to scatter my ashes there.)

L.A. Close enough to easily visit family, and I've grown quite fond of it in what little time I've spent there.

1) Chicago
2) NYC
3) LA
4) Philadelphia
5) Houston

Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, El Paso, ect. are all fine. Houston barely qualifies as a city.

NYC if we are talking proper. Metro, it'd be more of a battle between NYC and Houston.

New York City in the spring and summer in a condo overlooking Central Park.

Houston in the fall and winter  in a home in an upscale neighborhood.

2. Philadelphia
3. Chicago
4. Los Angeles

5. Houston

If including Phoenix, it would be further below Houston.
