While an eruption doesn't seem imminent, even one within the next few decades could have pretty catastrophic consequences across Italy and Southern Europe. What might be some of the effects if this were to actually happen politically/sociologically/environmentally?

Isn't the Yellowstone Supervolcano predicted to basically end life in North America west of the Rocky Mountains?




So, if this is the same kind of supervolcano, you have to basically evacuate all of Western Europe.
