If New York City mayor Bill de Blasio wins reelection in 2017, and chooses to run for governor against his rival, Gov. Andrew Cuomo in the 2018 Democratic primary, who would you vote for if you are a New York Democrat?

Andrew Cuomo, he is not as unpopular as some on Atlas make him out to be plus de Blasio is not all that popular right now. Cuomo wins 57-43.

Tough race, and a year or so ago I would say De Blasio, but unless Cuomo gets into another scandal, I think he would win. De Blasio has been a bit of a paper tiger.

De Blasio has a shot if only because of his strong support from minority communities, and Upstate still HATES Cuomo, so I could see a scenario where a less well known third candidate sucks up some of the up state conservative vote and De Blasio squeaks on by.

Of course De Blasio would be winning in a landslide if he weren't such a dumb.

Cuomo has my vote, because he doesn't murder deer.

Cuomo would have my vote if I lived in NY, if only for his demonstration of expert level trolling of the leftwing of his party.

De Blasio makes it closer than expected. Despite narrowly winning NYC, and heavily winning the African-American vote, Cuomo wins because of upstate and females voting for him by far more than average.

Cuomo wins, narrowly(by between one and five percent).

Cuomo would likely win, mostly because De Blasio is a good city leader but creates so many pointless distractions for himself. From the deer incident to his gym habits to the groundhog episode to the opposition to Central Park horses, De Blasio creates (often unintentionally but still) major distractions to his important policy re: criminal justice and housing

Cuomo, I think, would likely lose the area of upstate that Teachout won but by a smaller margin, and maybe lose Manhattan. The large margin in the Buffalo area and holding Long Island should keep him far enough ahead.
