I don't recall any other President going on victory tour after winning the Presidency.

Future politicians are going to be in permanent campaign mode.

Because it works.

No other president elect has ever had such a massive yet fragile ego, Filling rooms with fawning cheering sycophants is what sustains him.

En route to his inauguration by train, Lincoln addressed crowds and legislatures across the North. Lincoln's funeral train would follow the same path in reverse. Let us hope that history does not repeat itself.

Lincoln was far more racist than Trump is, so...

There was some President who did a goodwill tour of the country and refused to move into the White House as he travelled the country. Monroe?

I think he should have one every 2-3 months. Donald is hilarious.

"They’re saying: Woah!"

[cheers]

"And we won it big. But then the people back there, the extremely dishonest press aid, right?"

[boos]

"Very dishonest people. How about, how about, I mean how dishonest? How about when a major anchor who hosted a debate started crying? When she realised we won?"

[cheers]

"Tears! No, tell me this isn’t true! And you know what she doesn’t understand? Things are gonna be much better now! She doesn’t understand."

[boos]

"Folks, how many times did we hear this? “There is no path to 270. There is no path. There is no path."

[cheers]

"Then you turn on the television, like two minutes later. ‘Donald Trump won Texas!’ You know it’s like.."

[cheers]

"These are very, very dishonest people."

[boos]

"Okay. I love this stuff."

I don't see Trump waging a war to preserve the Union, which eventually morphed into a war to end slavery.

Also, context maters. Was Lincoln more racist than the average person of his time? I wouldn't say so. Sure, he wasn't perfect, but by the standards of his time, he was decent, especially towards the end of his life. But Trump is awful by the standards of our time, is an awful xenophobic racist, and is all-around just bad.

No, because Trump is the first POTUS in memory who actually cares about his voters. Plus it's a bully pulpit he can use on top of that.

He cares about them yet puts people in his cabinet who have and will continue to hurt them.

This is what Trump lives for.  He's in it for the applause.

But at the same time Clinton and Kaine are holding a "Thank you!" party for their mega-donors.  Which tells you all you need to know about her and why she lost.
