Interesting Politico Article on the Race

It's beyond clear that Kennedy should have dropped out and endorsed Biss if he wants to stop Pritzker; although I do wonder if a lot of the Kennedy vote is from his name ID

This makes too much sense.

He's running no campaign, has few prominent endorsements, he and Pritzker have definitely hung out in the same social circles for a long time...

This is the only thing that explains how his campaign can be so terrible. If true, what was he promised in exchange?

I think I have to buy into CK being a plant. Starting to hope Biss can pull it off next month.

Question for you all, does anyone have any idea what the AG race is looking like?  Is the People's Pat gonna win the D Primary?

He'll probably be nominated to some cushy position that's well-paying but requires no real work by Governor Pritzker.

Quinn's definitely the frontrunner, Raoul has most of the institutional support. I'll probably be voting for Raoul (which I'm not happy about, but he's the one with the best shot of winning) as the not-Quinn, but I expect Quinn will win.

Either Quinn or Raoul with an off chance of someone else. Lean Quinn.

Quinn doesn't seem to have any momentum at all here in Chicago. I actually was not aware that some viewed him as the front runner.

I am leaning toward voting for Sharon Fairley. I have confidence that she will be tough on CPD like Lisa Madigan has been.

God help us if Quinn is nominated.

Name rec + ballot line placement -- there hasn't been a ton of attention to the AG primary, especially with the late start this year. Lot of people voting for the only name on the ballot they know. I expect Quinn will win with something like 27% of the vote.

I've seen a lot of Kwame Raoul ads and a few for Nancy Rotering, but radio silence for Pat Quinn.  I'm also surprised he would be considered a front runner, but I guess name recognition does matter.  Who will downstate support?  Drury?

Paul Simon Institute poll today has Kwame at 22% and Quinn at 18%, no one else in double digits. Downstate goes 25% Quinn, 10% Kwame, negligible for everyone else.

The poll is already posted in the polling thread but thought I'd put the whole article here

Rauner and Pritzker both lead in primary polls

I have a strange love of awful, cringe worthy candidates/campaigns collapsing.

There's like 5-6 lines of quote from a campaign spokesperson and they can't say one good thing about their own candidate.

His campaign put up this new ad . Tbh the only thing left is to milk the goodwill of the Kennedy name

I don't know if I could tell anyone to vote for Pritzker in the general and keep my conscience.
