Brb vomiting forever. This is likely to be the worst run-off in the history of the republic.

Much as I like Fillon and would vote for him in normal circumstances, Le Pen so as to facilitate the complete bust up of the European Union.

Is there in anyway the left can make the run off, Can they not fycking unite around a candidate. Is the dysmal state of the left, owed to LePen and the left not realising it as a threat, and not acting on it, driving many left-wing voters to LePen. Fycking hell.

Utterly dislike both, but would probably vote for Fillon, who wouldn't break up the EU, if I had to. If this were the runoff I'd abstain though.

I mean did the the left before some year, didn't consider LePen as a major threat, and demougage LePen supporters, dirivng many previously left-wing voters, who viewed their concerns weren't being taken care by the left, and voted for LePen.

I honestly don't know how french politics and the french left were though.

The fascist. She will lose. If she wins, western civilization probably just needs a good ass whoopin' at that point. It probably already does.

Apparently Fillon is one of the few French politicians I would prefer over Le Pen.

This is what Democrats who ironically voted for Trump in the GOP primary said.

Wish I had that moral certitude, my life would be hugely impacted by the EU falling apart, so I would have to hold my nose and vote Fillon; and then wash myself with bleach afterwards.

I would just cry and then turn in a blank, soggy ballot. I suppose a lot of people will do something like that.

Abstain. I'd support Juppe, but I am as far from Fillion as I am from Le Pen.

I would be fine with Fillon, but I think this alt-right business needs to be address.

The one thing on Fillon's side is he is less obsessed with identity politics than everybody else in France, left right and centre. The right want to ban Islam and (eventually) Judaism; the left think that would be very unfair and would prefer to simply ban all religion - and it's all because of muh identiteh. The right (at the moment) consider it a horrific attack on French identity if children are served non-pork based meals and  if university students wear "religious headgear" in class. It's a surreal country in terms of politics.

France is, err, not a country that caters for vegetarians. Especially if you visit a restaurant in provincial France, where they normally assume people who claim to not eat meat are only referring to red meat, and recommend the chicken and fish options.

Although Fillon was the one who actually brought the headscarf ban into place in the first place.
