Dewey won Wisconsin, Iowa, Colorado, Wyoming, and Ohio against FDR in 1944, and yet lost these states against Truman in 1948. Is this attributable to replacing Old Right Ohio Governor John Bricker with liberal Republican California Governor Earl Warren as his Vice-President?

Truman targeted the farm vote in 1948, especially given economic dislocations in the post-WWII period in the farms states, with targeted farm subsidies.
