I haven't deleted anyone, but almost did when one close friend had a temper tantrum about third party voters and posted a "UNFRIEND ME" status. I considered taking a screenshot and sending it to her when she realized I unfriended her. I decided not to.

Nobody of importance (that I know of) has deleted me. But it did take a while before my best friends and family would speak to me.

Does Facebook even alert you when someone unfriends you?  I think someone unfriended me one or two times in the past, and I didn't get any kind of notification email, or anything like that.  I just noticed that I wasn't seeing their posts anymore, and checked my friends list, and they were gone.

No, they don't.  But, you can notice that your friend count went down, happen to notice that someone isn't your friend anymore, or install a third-party extension that will tell you.

My old boss from when I worked at a gym in high school did I think because one of my friends tagged me in a Trump wall post and I liked it. Which is hilarious because even though I don't post much on Facebook everything I have posted has been pretty anti-Trump. People need to get a life.
