The Constitution Party nominee did almost as well in the Aloha state (1.04%) as he did in Alaska (1.24%).

Haha, no. It remained the most Democratic state this year even without their favorite son on the ballot.

Well it swung right even though Trump is probably the worst Republican for that state.

What probably happened is conservative Hawai'ians realized Trump wasn't going to win anyway and more than usual went for the option they really would have rather had, recognizing it would have zero impact on the election.

No McMullin on the Hawaii ballot + Trump is unpopular in Hawaii + a reasonably large number of Mormons + it's a safe state and all 3rd party candidates beat their national averages there. Castle still got last place among those on the ballot.
