You should maybe post two two-way numbers in the title as well.

oh gosh, an automated one night poll...ok

The IVR (automated) poll of 887 likely voters in the November 2016 General Election was conducted by Mitchell Research & Communications on Tuesday night, November 1, 2016 and has a Margin of Error of + or - 3.29% at the 95% level of confidence.

Oh, I was wondering why the name seemed familiar. They released another poll just yesterday, and now they chugged this one out.

this is a daily tracker now....or just a multi-part poll?

those results are only for yesterday.

Election Polling 101: If it looks like junk, and smells like junk, then it probably is junk.

I find hard to reconcile this polling outfit with the Marquette Poll of WI, unless there is something absolutely bizarre happening in MI that hasn't been picked up on by any of the regular "Bloodhound Gang" sleuths on the Forum.

I raised the same issue the other night, in that this poll is a one day poll conducted apparently over the course of a few hours. It should be noted, the Reds were too busy calling Michigan Safe D at the time, but I digress.

Hmm, what to make of that?  On the one hand, it's a very recent picture of a slice of the electorate...potentially relevant if the undecideds are making their decision.

On the other hand, I would think it's difficult to be demographically balanced polling only in a small window of a single day, no?

Another big problem the other night was that they polled on Halloween night. On the other hand, this poll is basically in line with that other Michigan poll released (Clinton +1, by Strategic National), so I'm very conflicted on where to lean on it.

Strategic National is a Republican outfit, if that's any indication.

Yes, but that doesn't by necessity mean they're wrong. Remington's numbers have largely been confirmed by other polls lately, and they're considered a Lean-R pollster, for example. And as I noted, that poll meshes with this one as well. I'm not saying anything definite on Michigan until we get more major pollsters releasing results, but this does establish a trend line so far.

I would engage in a conversation with you, but the last time I did some months ago, you skedaddled from the thread when you were cornered.

Link it, I'll gladly reply. I'm sorry I have this thing called a life and college to attend to in that I can't always engage in hour long debates.

I was also going to say you loved to condescend towards people in the previous response, but I figured you would show it, and there it is.

I'm not going to go through the trouble of looking for a months-old thread for you. And FYI, I'm a PhD student who also has a life so good for you.

Strategic National is run by John Yob - a Michigan GOP strategist who has an incentive to create a "battleground Michigan" narrative because it increases demand for the services of his consulting firm. You should treat their polling as propaganda. Nothing more.

Mitchell, MSU, EPIC-MRI, etc. all suck too, btw. Hopefully a real pollster come through soon enough.
