And the British members of our forum.  I pray for all those who have died and all of those who are injured.  I sincerly hope that none of our forum members or their loved ones where involved.

Same here. Though attacks like these are terrible whenever and where they happen, we should be thankful that this didn't happen yesterday, with all the Olympic celebrations going on. As if today's attack wasn't bad enough, yesterday would have been a real disaster.

I will remember to pray for the victims and their loved ones throughout the day.

The people of the UK, and of London, have survived a lot worse; they have excelled during a lot worse.  My heart goes out, but something tells me the group that did this just made a very bad mistake.

As I have said earlier my heart goes out to all British people and to the entire country of the United Kingdom. May the victims rest in peace and may this increase our resolve in the never ending fight against terrorism.

Jerusalem

And did those feet in ancient time
    Walk upon England's mountains green?
And was the holy Lamb of God
    On England's pleasant pastures seen?

    And did the Countenance Divine
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
    And was Jerusalem builded here
    Among those dark Satanic mills?

Bring me my bow of burning gold:
Bring me my arrows of desire:
Bring me my spear: O clouds unfold!
Bring me my chariot of fire.

I will not cease from mental fight,
Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand
    Till we have built Jerusalem
In England's green and pleasant land.

Thank you all for the kind words and the images in your signatures. Edgware Road station is one I know well, its the closest station to the hotel that I usually stay in. The transport staff are wonderful, especially when it came to a Scotsman like me tearing his subway ticket by accident. It is a warren in that station and I hope that when it's reopened it's as popular as ever.

My heart only goes out to the people directly affected by these attacks - the families and friends, the support workers, and of course the victims themselves.  They don't deserve to suffer the consequences of their government's misguided actions.

Blame the British government for the disgusting "religion" called Islam, typical.

I frown, very deeply upon any attempt to excuse these actions.  You have just done that, by saying that they were related to the actions of the British government.  So, you think this is proper response to those actions.  Shame on you.

To be fair to Joe, I don't think that such a harsh criticism is warranted. I don't believe that he implied that terrorism was a proper response to anything.

Sorrrrry. Sheesh.  I try and show a little sympathy and this is what I get in return.

Anyway, how the hell was I "excusing their actions"?  If I gave you that impression, then you're wrong.

He directly implied the the actions of the British government were inexcusable, thus implying that this was a quid pro quo

My sympathies and thoughts go to the people of Britain. I didn't hear about this until just now (Alcon informed me), but this is truly a tragic day.

If you want to extend sympathy, then do it without conditions attached.  Do make statements that blame the government, which is democratically elected by the British people, BTW, is somehow to blame.

Oh whatever.

Like I said, I'm sympathetic to the people directly affected by today's events.  I'm not sure why the entire nation of Great Britain needs my sympathy, or anybody else's.

^^^^^

To say the British government is responsible for this is like saying a person who gets robbed at night is responsible because he should have stayed inside his house.  There is no excuse for an unprovoked attack like this aimed at civilians.

I can't say I'll pray for the people involved, being an atheist, but my thoughts are definately with you.
