I voted against Romney in 2012. If he had chosen a sane Republican as his running mate, I might've even voted for him. Trump, though, is frightening. I'm an anti-PC, anti-'SJW' Dem, but I fear what the U.S. And world would look like under a President a Trump. It makes me wish Romney had run and curb stomped a Trump. At least if Romney was to win, I'd know I'm just getting a moderate Republican. Not an unhinged narcissistic psychopath.

Trump is honestly making me miss Bush, which I didn't think was possible.

Nah, I actually disliked Romney even more than Trump.

Romney is still trash. Bush is still trash. Reagan is still trash. I do miss Jerry Ford, though.

Bush made some dems miss Reagan. I have a horrible feeling that we will miss Trump in 2028/2032.

Yeah, kind of.

Mitt Romney was an opportunist and careerist who didn't really stand for anything except for his ambition to crown his political career by being President of the United States. Sort of like Hillary Clinton.

But at least Romney wasn't a narcissistic, misogynistic, unpredictable, erratic, utterly inexperienced and incompetent asshole. And neither is Hillary Clinton.

One of the worst things about Trump (besides everything else about him of course) is how great he is at making people forget just how awful the past was.

Nostalgic? No. I would still never consider myself a fan of Romney or long for Romney. Yes, he looks terrific next to Trump, but radioactive waste looks appealing next to Trump.

I voted for Romney, and while I wouldn't do it again, I can at least understand and respect my previous rationale.  On the other hand, I honestly can't think of any good reason to vote for Trump.  There's nothing redeeming about him; no silver lining.  I'd most likely physically collapse and writhe in pain on election night if he wins.  I'm a really fragile person, and it would be a big hit.

Yes. If Romney won I'd have been very disappointed. If Trump wins I may need to mix some cyanide in my drink.

Probably not nostalgic, but with Romney the worst that could happen with him is that he would've made an awful President from my POV. With Trump the worst that could happen is that I die from nuclear radiation.

Without a doubt...

A President Romney would make things a little worse, but we'd survive 2 terms of him and not be completely ravaged. A President Trump would lead to nuclear annihilation

Yes.  Without a doubt.

Mitt Romney would have been an outstanding President, ranking in stature with Lincoln and the Roosevelts.

Does it matter?  Barring a rather unlikely Trump win (albeit less improbable than a week ago), we won't be hearing of Trump again.  I wouldn't be surprised if people were yearning for Trump by the time 2020 rolls around.

Romney the robot was a big turn-off. I wouldn't want him for President ever! But I absolutely don't want anything from Trump except for him to go away. I feel dirtied by his campaign.

Yes. I disagree politically with Mitt Romney, but I have never doubted that he would have been a responsible president. Nor have I doubted that he was a good man. No fearing armageddon under president Romney.
